Fall provides opportunities for fall foliage tours starting from mid September to early October. Baxter Park and Mt. Katahdin are truly spectacular. Moose and deer are frequently seen in the areas.

Fall hunting opportunities in our area for trophy size deer, moose, bear, as well as grouse and water foul start in September and offer the hunter a variety of challenges. Guide services are also available in our area.

River and lake fishing begins in April and lasts until the end of September. Fly fishing or spincasting in Baxter Park or on the Penobscot Rivers, for trout, bass and landlock salmon, trolling for trout and landlocks in Scraggly, Pleasant or Mattagamon Lakes or searching for Lake Trout in Munsungan, Chamberlain and Scraggly Lakes are some of the areas frequented by the locals.

Canoeing or kayaking the east branch of the Penobscot, Sebois River, Webster Stream, Fish River are easier accessible to our guests. Stay with us to and from the Allagash since we are right of Route 11.

Snowmobiling is easy since we are just off interstate 95 and right on ITS 81 and 83. Enjoy hundreds of miles of groomed trails. Stay in our fully furnished apartments and use the washer and dryer at the end of the day. A heated garage at the motel, 24 hour gas. Restaurants next door and snowmobile rentals make it very convenient for our snowmobiling guests.

Moose and game watchers, hikers, naturalists and explorers will find ample wilderness areas. Crystal Bog, Baxter Park and the Appalachian Trail and numerous rivers, lakes and wetlands are within easy reach from your room at Katahdin Valley Motel.

Hundreds of miles of ATV trails will provide you and your family with many areas to explore and visit.
